Edgewater Branch Library, Chicago, IL

Project Summary

The Public Building Commission of Chicago and the City of Chicago, working together through an intergovernmental agreement, joined the Chicago Public Library in conducting a comprehensive library building program. The program includes the construction or renovation of branch libraries, the building of additional new branch libraries in various parts of Chicago, and the replacement of small, store-front libraries with new, modern library facilities.

Based on a new Prototype C design, this new 18,665-square-foot, two-story full service branch library will replace the existing Edgewater Branch Library.

LEED Features: This project will be designed to achieve LEED Silver level certification under LEED 2009 and include a 50% green roof.
