During the demolition phase, INTERRA provided field compaction testing of the backfill material. In addition, the exposed subgrade after removal of the foundations was approved, prior to placement of the fill material. During the construction of the school, INTERRA provided bearing pressure tests for the foundations, field soil compaction testing for backfill material in the foundations and floor areas. Concrete testing was performed in the field including re-bar inspection during the placement of the concrete. Mortar and Grout sampling was also performed. Random sampling and testing of the CMU blocks and bricks was also performed. Structural steel testing consisted of weld inspections, shear stud testing, magnetic particle testing and bolted connection testing. Continuos roof inspection services were provided through our subconsultant. Asphalt testing services were provided for the parking areas.
The campus is comprised of four autonomous small schools: Multicultural Arts H.S., World Language H.S., Social Justice H.S., and Infinity: Math, Science, and Technology High School. The new school consisted of over 250,000 square foot area with basketball courts, swimming pools and auditorium.
