RR-20-4530: I-294 Retaining and Noise Wall Rehabilitation and Extension

INTERRA serves as Prime Consultant overseeing five subconsultants and performs construction management services including on-site inspection, construction layout checks, oversight of design changes, geotechnical inspection and testing, record preparation, documentation, pay estimates and change orders submittals, and all other associated services. Tasks have included:

  • RR-18-4406: Cleaning and Televising I-94 Drainage System (MP 21.8 to MP 25.2) – This project involved the cleaning and televising of storm sewers, culverts, and drainage structures along the Tri-State Tollway. The work included identifying and documenting structural issues which required repair. INTERRA served as Resident Engineer and Quality Assurance Materials Lead on the project.

  • RR-18-4441: I-294 Bridge and NAW Rehabilitation – This project involved Noise Abatement Wall Construction (SB over Central Road at MP 46.1 and NB over Ballard Road at MP 44.9). This project also included deck patching, drainage modifications, site restoration, and Maintenance of Traffic during construction operations. INTERRA’s Resident Engineer coordinated all aspects of the work including traffic control notifications, inspection, documentation, and materials testing.

  • RR-19-4450: South Tri-State Accident Repairs – This project included SN 124 removal, concrete barrier wall repair, sign truss support replacement, median barrier wall replacement/repair, and noise abatement wall structural repairs to areas along I-294 (MP 3.2 to MP 14.7). INTERRA served as Resident Engineer and Quality Assurance Materials Lead.

  • RR-19-4455: I-294 Grading, Erosion Control, and Sluice Gate Path MP 44.3 (Dempster Street) to MP 44.6 (Ballard Road) – Resident Engineer and Quality Assurance Materials Lead were provided for the grading, erosion control, and sluice gate path upgrades along both the SB and NB outside rights-of-way of I-294 between the limits mentioned above.

  • RR-19-4501: I-88 Drainage and Environmental Repairs – This project included miscellaneous repairs to 14 different locations along I-88 between MP 45.5 and MP 136.4. INTERRA provided prime CM services on the project including resident engineering, documentation, material testing, and subconsultant staff oversight.

  • RR-20-4530: I-294 Retaining and Noise Wall Rehabilitation and Extension – This project included drainage, grading, structural bridge repairs, noise abatement wall repairs, and retaining wall repairs at five different locations along I-294 (MP 41.02 and MP 52.45). INTERRA provided prime CM services on the project including resident engineering, documentation, material testing, and staff oversight.

  • RR-19-9018R: I-88 Pavement and Structural Preservation – This contract on I-88 included pavement and structural preservation from MP 51.60 and MP 56.07 to MP 56.72 (Dixon Tollway Plaza). The project included EB and WB resurfacing and associated work of I-88 along with slope wall repairs and gabion basket installations. INTERRA provided prime CM services including resident engineering, documentation, and material testing.

  • RR-21-4815: Systemwide Emergency Guardrail Repairs – The project included emergency guardrail and attenuator repairs throughout all corridors of the Tollway system. This contract was the first Emergency Procurement by the Tollway since 2014. INTERRA was tasked with initial site investigations, contractor scope preparation, maintenance yard coordination, bid oversight, and all typical CM responsibilities including but not limited to resident engineering, inspection, documentation, material testing, change management, and project closeout.

  • I-21-4558: I-90 Pavement Repairs at IL 53 (MP 67.1 to MP 67.7) – The project included asphalt surface removal/ replacement with asphalt overlay, partial concrete surface removal/replacement with asphalt overlay, high-early concrete pavement patching, pavement marking, and maintenance of traffic during construction operations. INTERRA provided prime CM services on the project including resident engineering, documentation, material testing, and staff oversight.

  • RR-21-4584: IL 390 Right-of-Way Fence Installation (MP 16.2 to MP 16.6) – The project included the installation of right-of-way fence, site restoration, and extensive utility coordination and redesign coordination. INTERRA provided prime CM services on the project including resident engineering, documentation, material testing, and staff oversight.

  • RR-20-9228: Systemwide Sign Panel Fabrication and Installation Upon Request – The project included the removal of existing sign supports, fabrication of new panels, panels and luminaires, construction of new foundations and supports, the installation of new panels, placement of vinyl sign overlays, and maintenance of traffic. INTERRA provided prime CM services on the project including resident engineering, documentation, material testing, and staff oversight.

  • RR-20-4552: Structural Rehabilitation Veterans Memorial Tollway (I-355) – This project included bridge joint repairs along southbound I-355 at Fullerton Avenue and Army Trail Road, which required multi-agency cooperation to implement detours to allow the work to be completed. An Ultra-High-Performance concrete was used in order for the joints to be removed, repaired, and reopened to traffic, all in a single weekend. INTERRA provided Prime CM services on the project including resident engineering, documentation, material testing, and subconsultant staff oversight.  

  • RR-22-4841: Systemwide Roadway Appurtenance Repairs – This contract included guard rails, attenuator, traffic barrier terminals, various roadway repairs, and maintenance of traffic. INTERRA provided Prime CM services on the task which included resident engineering, documentation, material testing, and subconsultant staff oversight.
