As part of the Illinois High Speed Rail project from Chicago to Springfield, Union Pacific Railroad has been constructing 3 to 5 mile long sidings tracks. The scope of work consisted of providing Quality Assurance Services for various materials such as testing of fill materials for compaction, verifying concrete consistencies, and the compressive strength. In addition, asphalt testing was also performed which included temperature and density testing.
