A highlight of INTERRA’s Metra experience includes the CREATE P-1 Flyover. This $140 million dollar CREATE P-1 Flyover project, also known as the Englewood Flyover, consisted of a triple-track flyover bridge which carries Metra tracks over Norfolk Southern and Amtrak tracks.

This project included a railroad flyover to carry the north ‐ south Metra Rock Island line over the east‐west NS/Amtrak line. The project constructed bridges that accommodate three tracks to carry Metra operations over the four tracks of NS. The Flyover length is 8,700 feet and extends for approximately 2,100 feet.

INTERRA performed material testing services for soil, concrete, and steel. For soil compaction services were completed to verify the stability of the soil. Work conducted on the concrete included caissons, verifying consistency and the compressive strength. As part of the neighborhood improvements, INTERRA conducted concrete testing and inspection for sidewalks, curbs, and gutters. INTERRA also performed material coordination services for the project, overseeing all materials, and reviewing material documentation. INTERRA also travelled to Wisconsin to ensure the structural steel fabrication results adhered to the fabrication shops at PDM in Wisconsin.
