This IDOT project consisted of the construction of a pedestrian bridge which carries a trail over Touhy Avenue in the Village of Lincolnwood in Cook County. INTERRA conducted testing and inspection services for soil, asphalt, and concrete. For soil, compaction testing and inspection services were conducted on the MSE/retaining wall which used sand as a backfill material. Other services for this project included embankment and subgrade inspections with the Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) testing and concrete testing for the bridge structures. Asphalt testing and inspection took place at the plant and in the field and consisted of density and temperature verification. INTERRA also performed concrete testing and inspection services which consisted of slump, strength, temperature, and air content. INTERRA also monitored a foundation footing pour. Concrete cylinder specimens were made, collected, and transported them to the INTERRA laboratory.
